Anti-drone Equipment: Essential for Protecting Lives and Infrastructure
Drones are rapidly becoming a decisive factor in modern defence strategies, reshaping the battlefield and forcing nations to adapt to an evolving threat landscape. At MyDefence, we are at the forefront of this development, working to create advanced solutions that protect lives and critical infrastructure from the rising risks posed by drones.
An article published today by Mandag Morgen highlights these challenges and opportunities, featuring insights from our Director of Business Development, Christian Clemmensen Møller. The article emphasizes the strategic importance of drone technology and the critical need for anti-drone equipment to counter growing threats like espionage, sabotage, and direct attacks.
The Drone Challenge
The war in Ukraine has showcased the immense impact drones can have on modern warfare. Both sides deploy thousands of drones – ranging from small surveillance devices to large, armed platforms – every single day. These drones are used for reconnaissance, logistics, and direct combat operations, making them a vital component of military strategy.
However, the conflict has also exposed the vulnerabilities drones introduce, particularly when adversaries deploy them in large numbers or use them to attack critical assets. The urgent need for advanced counter-drone (C-UAS) systems has never been clearer. Anti-drone equipment is no longer just an option; it is essential to stay ahead of rapidly evolving technological threats.

Beyond War Zones: Protecting Critical Infrastructure
While the need for anti-drone technology is evident on the battlefield, the threat extends far beyond war zones. In Denmark and around the world, critical infrastructure has increasingly become a target for unauthorized drones.
In 2022, 18 instances of “large, gray drones with a wingspan of five meters” were observed near drilling platforms at the Tyra Field in the North Sea. More recently, Køge Havn faced security concerns over unauthorized drones in the area. These examples highlight how drones can be used for espionage, sabotage, and other malicious activities in sensitive locations.
The importance of anti-drone technology is further underlined by a growing trend: tenders for critical infrastructure projects, such as wind farms, now often include requirements for equipment capable of detecting and neutralizing unauthorized drones in the airspace.
The MyDefence Solution
At MyDefence, we are dedicated to meeting these challenges head-on. Our advanced anti-drone solutions are designed to detect, track, and neutralize unauthorized drones in real-time. By leveraging innovative technology, we aim to provide robust protection against drones, ensuring the safety of both lives and infrastructure.
Our systems are not only tailored to military applications but are also highly effective in safeguarding civilian infrastructure. From wind farms and ports to energy installations and government buildings, our technology provides the assurance needed to operate safely in an increasingly drone-dominated world.
Looking Ahead
The role of drones in modern defence will only continue to grow, as will the need for advanced systems to counter them. As Christian Clemmensen Møller points out in the Mandag Morgen article, the stakes are high. Innovation and collaboration are critical to developing the technologies necessary to stay ahead of these evolving threats.
At MyDefence, we are proud to contribute to this effort. Our mission is clear: to innovate and deliver world-class solutions that protect lives, secure infrastructure, and enable safer environments for all.
