MyDefence Supports DHS Preparations for
FIFA World Cup 2026

MyDefence is working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026, deploying counter-UAS (C-UAS) drone detection capabilities to support comprehensive airspace awareness across event-related security operations.

The deployment supports public safety and security around critical infrastructure, public gathering areas, and transportation corridors associated with the tournament. Specific locations are not being disclosed for operational security reasons. The solution is designed to integrate with existing command-and-control frameworks used by federal, state, and local security personnel operating across multiple host cities.

C-UAS Drone Detection at FIFA World Cup 2026

FIFA World Cup 2026, spanning venues across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will create one of the most complex and contested airspace environments ever seen at a North American sporting event. Commercial drone operations, media coverage, emergency services and public safety aviation, and the persistent risk of unauthorized or hostile unmanned aerial systems (UAS) will all occur simultaneously across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory boundaries. Managing this level of airspace activity demands proven C-UAS technology capable of operating effectively in dense urban environments with high RF noise floors and significant electromagnetic interference.

MyDefence provides RF-based drone detection and UAS identification capabilities to help security personnel maintain real-time airspace awareness and clearly distinguish between authorized drone activity and suspicious or non-cooperative UAS. The system supports rapid threat cueing, enabling operators to assess and respond to potential airspace incursions before they escalate, a critical capability in crowded public safety environments where reaction time directly impacts outcomes.

Drone Detection Supporting DHS Public Safety Operations

“Major international events face increasingly complex airspace challenges, and reliable counter-drone detection is becoming essential to any serious public safety posture,” said Steven Adkison, Director of Business for DHS and Federal Agencies at MyDefence and retired Patrol Agent in Charge of the Tucson Border Patrol Station. “Our role is to give security operators the airspace awareness and UAS situational awareness they need to make informed, coordinated decisions.”

As the UAS threat landscape continues to evolve, with small commercial drones increasingly accessible and the potential for weaponization or surveillance misuse growing, C-UAS integration at major public events has shifted from optional to operationally necessary. MyDefence continues to support defense, homeland security, and public safety partners globally with counter-drone solutions built for evolving operational requirements, from border security to critical infrastructure protection to large-scale event security.
