MyDefence Introduces Custom Drone Library Giving Forces Control of Their Drone Intelligence

MyDefence is once again marking a major milestone with the launch of its Custom Drone Library – a capability that empowers armed forces to create, own, and deploy their own drone intelligence at operational speed.

The Custom Drone Library combines a trusted preloaded database of drone signatures with the ability for operators to capture and deploy new detectors as soon as emerging threats are encountered. Once a new drone has been identified, detectors can be built and distributed across deployed systems – enabling the entire force to recognize and counter hostile drones with greater speed and precision.

In modern warfare, a drone fielded today may appear tomorrow with a new frequency, altered flight profile, or modified payload. Preloaded threat libraries remain an essential foundation, providing immediate protection against commonly encountered drones. The Custom Drone Library extends this foundation by allowing operators to record and analyse new drone activity themselves, ensuring forces can adapt as quickly as adversaries innovate.

Through MyDefence systems such as Watchdog and Wolfpack, operators capture radio frequency signals, transform them into new detectors, and rapidly share them across the force. This ensures that a single frontline discovery strengthens the collective defence posture.

Just as importantly, the Custom Drone Library keeps ownership where it belongs: with the operator. Armed forces retain full control over sensitive data and their custom libraries, safeguarding national security while maintaining the flexibility to share knowledge with coalition partners when appropriate.

“Adversaries are constantly changing the rules of drone warfare. With the Custom Drone Library, we ensure our forces are not just reacting, but actively shaping the battlespace with intelligence they own, control, and can deploy across their entire network.”

– Dan Hermansen, CEO, MyDefence

By combining a preloaded library with operator-owned intelligence, the Custom Drone Library represents a strategic leap in spectrum warfare. It transforms counter-drone operations from reactive defence into adaptive, force-wide resilience – ensuring troops are not only protected against today’s threats, but prepared for the unknown challenges of tomorrow.
